It was the summer of 69. Jimmy quit, Jody got married, and in the West End, a new type of mall was opening.
Throughout the 1960s, Metro Vancouver got more and more malls. It also was getting more and more condos.
But what if, thought one developer, you could combine the two? A bunch of homes protruding into the sky, and below, a small urban village that would have everything you need, from groceries to the latest movie?

That…never happened. But what happened to the mall?
